Did you know that the majority of athletic injuries involve a face? At Yes Dental Rouse Hill, we help families and athletes protect their smiles from injuries with custom-fitted athletic mouthguards.
Most athletes can pick up a stock mouthguard at any drug store. But these appliances are a one-size-fits-most, providing a generally looser fit across their teeth and gums.
By investing in a custom-moulded mouthguard, you can ensure the highest level of comfort and protection. Each Rouse Hill mouthguard made at Yes Dental is crafted from a custom mould of your unique smile. That way the final device snuggly wraps around the contour of each of your teeth.
To get started, we’ll book you in for an impression or scan of your teeth. After about a week or so, you’ll come back to Yes Dental to try in your appliance. If we know beforehand, we can even craft your mouthguard to match your team jersey!
Durable acrylic athletic mouthguards can last for years. The key is to store them in a cool, dry place out of the reach of small children or pets. Keep them out of hot cars or areas where there are high temperatures (including hot water) as they can melt or warp. Pets tend to chew on mouthguards when they come across them, so always store your appliances in a case when you’re not wearing them.
To keep your mouthguard clean, rinse it with lukewarm tap water and brush away any residue with a toothbrush. Allow it to air dry and store it in a hard case. If there is visible buildup, consider soaking it overnight in an effervescent denture cleanser then rinsing and brushing it the next morning.
Yes Dental sees sporting-related dental emergencies on a fairly frequent basis. Although we’re happy to provide you with care, we’re also here to help you avoid injuries in the first place.
Your modest investment in an athletic mouthguard can save your smile and your wallet before an injury occurs.
