Custom Crowns and Bridges

At Yes Dentalin Rouse Hill, we use durable crowns and bridges to restore or replace damaged teeth. Each of these custom restorations is handcrafted for maximum protection and performance, as well as aesthetically-pleasing results.

Do I Need a Dental Crown?

Crowns are protective covers that reinforce the damaged teeth. They can be made from matching porcelain or other ceramics, providing both strength and aesthetic advantages.

Unlike fillings that are placed inside of cavities, crowns go around the tooth like a helmet or shell. They distribute biting pressure evenly across the entire surface, extending the overall function of your tooth.

We recommend crowns for teeth with:

Depending on the age and needs of your child, some of the paediatric dental services that we offer include:

  • Large cavities
  • Significant wear or cracks
  • Recent root canal therapy
  • Significant cosmetic concerns

Porcelain crowns can also be attached to individual dental implants, filling in spaces created by missing teeth.

Benefits of Fixed Bridges

Dental bridges are a traditional option for replacing missing teeth. A typical bridge fills in the space of 1-2 teeth, with either end anchored on top of a healthy tooth.

At Yes Dental, we also use bridges paired with dental implants to fill in wider spaces caused by missing teeth.

Bridges help:

  • Preserve natural tooth spacing
  • Restore the chewing function of missing teeth
  • Compliment overall aesthetics

The Treatment Process

Traditional crowns and bridges typically require two appointments to complete. The first visit involves prepping the supporting teeth and taking an impression for our lab. Each tooth is thoroughly numbed to minimise any sensitivity.

We will send your impression to the ceramist with directions on how we want your new crown or bridge to look. Then, we’ll fit you with a temporary crown to wear while the permanent restorations are being designed. About two weeks later, you’ll come back to see our Rouse Hill dentist to have the final crown or bridge bonded into place.

Caring for Your Crown or Bridge

Even though crowns and bridges cover your tooth, they still need to be cleaned each day. Regular brushing and flossing will help prevent tartar buildup and new areas of decay from forming along the margins of your restoration.

With good home care and regular checkups, your crown or bridge can last for several years to come.
